NOV 1320-UDBE drawworks
What it does
The 1320-UDBE is a 2,000 horsepower chain-drive drawworks with a universal disc brake. It sits between the 1,500 horsepower 110 and the 3,000 horsepower 1625. It reels the drill line that raises and lowers the block.
Which rig it fits
This is a hoist for a larger land rig, or a smaller offshore package that still uses a DC chain-drive drawworks. With 12 lines in low gear the catalog lists 470 tons. With 10 lines in that gear it lists 402.5 tons. High gear on 12 lines is 120 tons. Use the line count the mast is reeved for, not the biggest number in the table.
How to tell it apart
The model number is not the drum width. Two 1320s can differ in drum size and motor count. A 110-UDBE is 1,500 horsepower. A 1625-UDBE is 3,000. If the listing is missing the brake suffix, ask: a disc-brake UDBE and a band-brake drawworks of a similar size are not the same parts list.
What to check before you buy
Measure the drum and count the motors. Confirm the discs, the grooving, and the drill-line size the drum was built for. The 470-ton figure only applies in low gear with 12 lines, and only if the mast agrees.
Sellers list what they have, so this exact model is not always up. Drawworks is where that kind of equipment is listed.
