NOV 110-UE drawworks
What it does
The 110-UE is a 1,500 horsepower drawworks with band brakes. It hoists the block on a mid-size land rig. NOV prints it on the same hook-load table as the 110-UDBE, so the published pulling figures match. The brake does not.
Which rig it fits
This is a common hoist for a 1,500 horsepower land rig. With 10 lines in low clutch and low transmission the catalog lists 302.5 tons. With 12 lines that figure is 355 tons. High gear on 12 lines is 80 tons. The mast has to be rated for the load. The drawworks will not make a light mast into a 355-ton mast.
How to tell it apart
Choose the UE if you want the band-brake 110. Choose the UDBE if you want the disc-brake 110. Horsepower and the hook-load table are the same. Parts for the brakes are not. An 80-UE is the 1,000 horsepower machine below this one. A 1320-UDBE is 2,000 horsepower.
What to check before you buy
Confirm the brake is actually bands, then look at lining thickness and drum condition. Motors on this family are DC. Ask whether the eddy-current auxiliary brake is included. The main brake and the auxiliary are separate.
Sellers list what they have, so this exact model is not always up. Drawworks is where that kind of equipment is listed.
