Cameron T-90 annular BOP
What it does
The T-90 is a short annular for stacks that do not have room for a taller DL or another full-height annular. It closes on pipe or open hole using a synthetic-rubber packer. SLB lists it for land drilling and well servicing, and it can be monogrammed to API Spec 16A.
Which rig it fits
Use it when stack height is the constraint and the size is on Cameron’s list. A 7 1/16-inch body is offered at 3,000, 5,000, and 10,000 psi. A 9-inch body is 3,000 psi. An 11-inch body is 3,000 or 5,000 psi. A 13⅝-inch body is 3,000 or 5,000 psi. There is no 15,000 psi T-90 on that list. The body style is a single.
How to tell it apart
Choose a T-90 for height. Choose a DL when you need the wider bore and pressure range, up to 10,000 psi on larger bores, or a dual body. Neither one replaces the ram preventer under it. A 13⅝-inch 10,000 psi drilling stack needs an annular that is actually rated 10,000 psi. A 5,000 psi T-90 is the wrong annular on that flange.
What to check before you buy
Match the bore and the working pressure to the rams and to the well program, then look at the packer. Height is the reason to buy this model. It does not relax the pressure rating. Confirm the API 16A monogram if the operator requires it. Availability of the monogram is not the same as a monogram on the body in the yard.
Sellers list what they have, so this exact model is not always up. BOPs & Well Control is where that kind of equipment is listed.
