NOV FC-1600 mud pump
What it does
The FC-1600 is the later 1,600 horsepower companion to the FB-1600. NOV publishes the same normal rating: 1,600 horsepower at 120 strokes per minute, a 7 by 12 inch maximum liner and stroke, and a 4.31:1 gear ratio. The discharge flange is 5 inches at 7,500 psi.
Which rig it fits
Use it where the rig is already an F-series pump house: same horsepower class as the FB-1600, and a step above a 1,000 horsepower FD-1000. At 120 strokes per minute the brochure lists about 720 gallons per minute on the largest liner shown and about 297 gallons per minute on a 4½-inch liner. Those figures assume a healthy pump. A worn fluid end will not make the table.
How to tell it apart
Performance tables for the FB-1600 and the FC-1600 match. The frames do not. If your spare liners, modules, and crossheads are FB parts, an FC power end may not take them. A 12-P-160 is a different pump again: different stroke class, different gear ratio, and often a 5,000 psi fluid end unless it was built with the optional 7,500 psi end.
What to check before you buy
Ask the seller to read the frame casting, not just the horsepower. Then check liner size against the gallons and pressure you need. Smaller liner, less volume, more pressure. Also confirm the motors are part of the sale.
Sellers list what they have, so this exact model is not always up. Mud Pumps is where that kind of equipment is listed.
