Canrig PC-3000 catwalk
What it does
The PC-3000 is a Canrig powered catwalk. It lifts tubulars from the pipe rack to the drill floor and brings them back down, which is the same job as a PipeCat. Canrig is part of Nabors. A public rating sheet for this model was not part of the sources used here, so no safe working load is stated on this page.
Which rig it fits
It fits the rig whose floor height, tubular length, and pipe weight are inside the nameplate. Those three numbers, plus the outside diameter of the casing you run, are the fit. A catwalk built for a 25-foot floor will not reach a taller substructure without a different trough.
How to tell it apart
A PipeCat is NOV’s catwalk. The published PipeCat layouts are the PC-5-47 and PC-5-65, both at 10,000 pounds and a 25-foot floor. Do not assign those numbers to a PC-3000. An STV is a fingerboard machine and will not replace a catwalk.
What to check before you buy
Read the safe working load, the longest tubular, the diameter range, the floor height, and the electric and hydraulic supply. Ask whether the skate, indexers, and racks are included. The model name alone does not tell you if it will pick up your heaviest collar.
Sellers list what they have, so this exact model is not always up. Pipe Handling & Rig Floor Tools is where that kind of equipment is listed.
